RE: Camping around Savannah

You might try the Rivers End on Tybee Island. Make reservations ahead. There are some campgrounds in smaller towns around Savannah, but right now I don't have the info with me. Might try a map, pick a town & google in the name & ask if they have campgrounds. We found it much easier to stay a few miles away & drive into Savannah. Be sure you have the correct directions to get to Tybee & don't get lost in Savannah with a 5th wheel like we did. The Streets are narrow & congested. PB of Mo

RE: Got a good bread pudding recipe?

Microwave Bread Pudding 3-4 slices bread, toasted 1/2 C brown sugar 1/2 C raisins 1 t. vanilla 2 1/2 C milk 1/4 t. cinnamon (I use 1-2 t.) 3 eggs Place bread in a greased 2-qt. casserole. Sprinkle with raisins. Set aside. Pour milk into a 4 C measure. Microwave on high (100%) for 3-4 min., or until steaming. Mix together eggs, sugar (reserving 2 T.), & vanilla. Stir a little hot milk into egg mixture, & then stir the egg mixture into remaining hot milk. Pour over bread & raisins, pressing bread down to absorb liquid. Cover with waxed paper. Allow to stand 10 min. Mix together reserved sugar & cinnamon. Sprinkle over custard. Cover. Microwqve on low (30%), for 35-40 min., or until a knife inserted near edge comes out clean. Remove cover immediately & allow to stand on a solid surface until center is set. Serve wawrm or cool. Yields 4-6 wervings. I bet you can't tell this wasn't baked in the oven. A fast, easy delicious recipe. I've used it many times. PB of Mo

RE: Branson Campground Opinions

Having gone to Branson since about 1963-4 I have a few suggestions. Table Rock State Park is our favorite. About 6 miles to Branson from there, like most State parks it closes earlier in the Fall than we would like. Be sure you make reservations in advance if you plan on staying there. There aren't too many full hookups & they are always booked. Oak Grove Campground is very close to Branson, small, friendly, but just a place to park. Ozark Campground is not far from Branson, but a curvey road getting there. Branson View Campground, has nothing exciting, but a beautiful view. We like it around the 4th of July as they have a gazebo to sit in & watch all the fireworks. If you want to be on Taneycomo go for the City of Bransons Campground, you can't get much closer & it is close to the new Landing. Compton Ridge is good, especially if you want to be closer to SDC. Also a good show is Fantastic Seven. For $6-7 more you can have a nice dinner with the show & the food is very good. Hope this helps you. PB of Mo.

RE: Must see's in Helen and Tybee Island Ga.?

We camped on Tybee in March 2007. Not much there to see. Enjoyed the beach, Fort & a little restaurant had great shrimp. We did enjoy Savannah. More to see than we had time for. Took the bus tour, great way to visit all the areas. You are allowed to get on & off the bus at your leisure. We got to Paula Dean's restaurant around 9:00 AM & the line to get reservations was more than two blocks long. And they were standing there for hours. We decided we would watch her on TV if we wanted to see her. It was a nice time of year to visit. PB of MO

RE: Hi Low trailers

I think they must be a good little trailers from your information. I had heard that the axle doesn't do well in places like Alaska. From your info it sounds like a sturdy trailer. I would just have to see them before deciding, especially if there isn't much head room. It is hard to find a dealer in MO. Thanks for taking the time to answer. PB of Mo

Hi Low trailers

Does anyone have a Hi Low type of trailer? Do they hold up well? Do they make you feel cramped for space? We are thinking of down sizing & wanted to glean any information or suggestions on them we can. Thanks! PB of Mo
